You spend your days wearing the face of others.
Oh, what a monumental power to possess.
With you, there are no gimmicks.
You shine a light on unadulterated truth.
I suppose that’s your cross to bear.
Is that why you’re so fragile?
Is that the reason your smooth exterior shatters so easily?
Surely you’re aware of the potency your candidness holds.
You may shine a light on reality,
but the truth is our minds interpret what our eyes see,
and more often than not, imagination blends with actuality.
We are such funny creatures, only gazing upon our diluted truths.
How tiring it must be to realize
not everyone is wise enough to receive your gift,
but you have no choice except to give it away.
I suppose that’s your cross to bear.
“ Is that why you’re so fragile?
Is that the reason your smooth exterior shatters so easily?“ on point. I think it can be overlooked the amount of power a mirror actually possesses especially for the self conscious. Great post!
