6 Years- A Poem By Nia Rose

For- Linda

6 years and 6 feet under,

I missed you before you were even gone.

Your smile still echoes through my mind,

akin to a hazy mirage.

I feel your absence most nights when my dreams blend with reality.

I pinched myself, though not hard enough to wake up.

6 years and 6 feet under,

It’s been so long since I’ve felt your warmth.

Just when I start to lose myself in the abyss,

I remember that your goodbye never intended to signify forever.

So, I will take comfort in knowing we’ll meet again

and just say see you later for now.

Hey! My name’s Nia Rose and I love to write, or more like I need to write. Yes, I’m one of those writers who possess that voracious yearning to create. I realized early on this urge wasn’t going away so I decided to embrace it and devote my time to being a professional writer. I wanted to create a space where I could freely post my work and experiment with different genres. My main areas of focus are poetry, fiction, and creative non-fiction. My goal is to continue growing as a writer and to create content people will enjoy!
